Timothy Burdick is called the "Minister of Abilities" for
Friday Study Ministries because of his
strong outreach to the disabled community.
He has been blind since birth and his wife,
Susan, was blind because of Multiple
Sclerosis. Here is his thought for
Strength In You
the foolishness of God is wiser than man's
wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger
than man's strengthĒ (1 Corinthians
us who face special needs have listened to
lies for too long. We have come to view
ourselves the way the world sees us, which
is namely as weak and ineffective. Today
however, I want to challenge you to get rid
of that kind of thinking; realizing that any
weakness you might have can be an
opportunity for Godís strength to flow
through you into the lives of other people.
Have you ever really thought about the
strength of God who created and maintains
everything? Take a minute to think on Him,
comparing the weakness that you face with
the strength of God. You will find your
disabilities turning into abilities and your
obstacles turning into stepping stones to a
Bible has a lot to say about perseverance
and faithfulness. To "persevere" simply
means to hang in there and draw upon Godís
strength when you canít face life alone. Be
faithful to the dream that God has put in
your heart, knowing that He can bring it to
pass. See any weakness you might have as an
opportunity to let Godís strength be in you.
Donít listen to lies that tell you what you
canít do, listen to Godís Word telling you
what you CAN, and you will be amazed at what
you can overcome through Him.
Remember Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
