Meditate On God
By Pastor Timothy Burdick
"To
the only God our savior be glory, majesty,
power and authority, through Jesus Christ
our Lord before all ages, now and forever
more. Amen" (Jude 25)
I was reminded again
this morning, how important a good breakfast
really is. And the Word of God is even more
satisfying than a good breakfast. We need to
set aside some time to focus on Christ the
first thing in the morning. We do not do
this out of legalism or guilt, but out of
love for Him.
in a culture which is
almost insane, and where we have set up
speed as a "god" to be revered, reflection
on the one true God is almost a lost art.
Meditating on the attributes of God will not
only sustain us through the day, it will
help us to keep our way pure, which in turn
will enhance our prayer life.
Listen to what David
had to say in Psalm 1:1-3 - "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of
the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or
sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight
is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he
meditates day and night. He is like a tree
planted by streams of water, which yields
it's fruit in season and whose leaf does not
wither. Whatever he does prospers."
I would urge you today,
to meditate on God's majesty, power, glory
and authority. As you make it a daily
practice, you will discover untold riches.
