GOD’S RETURN POLICY
By Pastor Timothy Burdick
"How great is the Lord, how deserving of praise, in the city of our God, which sits on his holy mountain!" (Psalms 48:1 LB)
Many times we focus on the temporal of this world, only to be disappointed. For example, at this time of year the stores are full of frustrated people returning unwanted gifts. But this is not true in the spiritual realm, for since God can see our hearts, He gives us perfect gifts according to what we need. Not just once a year, for the Scripture says that His mercies are new every morning. Further more, God’s gifts are incredible, and have no need of a return policy.
Have you ever given serious thought to the love of God? I ask this because His gifts point to the ultimate gift which He gave us of Himself, namely He gave us Jesus Christ.
As I said above, God has no return policy on His gifts, and while that is true, we do have the privilege of returning thanks and praise to Him.
Instead of dwelling on what you don’t have or didn’t get, make it a point to think about what you do have and how God has blessed you. Instead of feeling frustrated when you hit a bump in the road, make it a point to dwell on God’s greatness. As you do this you will find your attitude changing. Things that used to bother you, while not always pleasant, will become a reason for praise.
